What is a brain age clock?

Modified on Wed, 22 Apr at 7:31 PM

A brain age clock is a prediction model. You take hundreds of biomarkers from thousands of people and train an AI model to predict biological age from those biomarkers alone. When the model is accurate, the gap between your chronological age and the age your brain is functioning at becomes meaningful.

If your brain is functioning like a 55-year-old and you’re 45, that gap is a signal — something is affecting your brain function. If you’re functioning like a 40-year-old at 50, your brain is aging well. The clock makes this visible, and when tracked over time, it reveals your trajectory — whether brain function is stable, improving, or declining.
