The headset uses two types of sensors:
- Three midline EEG electrodes reading brainwave activity from delta through the third harmonic of gamma (1 Hz to 120 Hz) with lab-grade precision.
- A pulse oximeter on the left earcup reading heart rate, heart rate variability, and heart rate coherence.
These readings tell the app about your physiological state in real time. The app processes the signal into Program-specific feedback: sound through the headphones, and sometimes visuals on the app screen. The sensors also inform the transcranial photobiomodulation (tPBM) light stimulation, matching its pulsing frequency to your own brainwaves.
