What does the"soft eyes, soft tongue" cue mean?

Modified on Fri, 3 May at 11:48 AM

The "soft eyes, soft tongue" cue is a technique introduced in Sens.ai to help users quiet their mental chatter and access deeper states of awareness. Here's how it works:

  1. Soft Eyes: By allowing your eyes to defocus and soften, you activate your body's relaxation response. This defocusing helps dial down the hyper-focus in high beta brainwaves, reducing mental chatter and promoting a sense of calmness.

  2. Soft Tongue: Allowing your tongue to be soft further facilitates quieting the mind. When we engage in mental chatter, our tongue patterns become tense due to subvocalization, which is essentially speaking to ourselves internally. By consciously softening the tongue, we interrupt this subvocalization process, leading to a quieter mind.
